New Website Design
I think its about time for a new website design. I made this design a few years ago…. and believe it or not it was pretty ‘Rad’ at the time. But no more. Considering I’m the Art Director a at web development company, I really should keep my own stuff fresh and clean.
On a another note…. Is anyone else excited about the new Tron Soundtrack by Daft Punk?? I hear that!

The Good Stuff
I first saw Michal Menert Perform this live in Knoxville and loved it. I’ve been waiting for it to drop ever since. I it still hasnt dropped but at least I have this video to play in the background! Michal played this track this past week when I saw him in Covington Ky.

As depressing as it may seem I like to think that sample heads like us are lending the has beens a helping hand by flipping their sounds and making them relevant again. Everyone always bitches about sampling like it’s some sort of crime, a talentless theft of intellectual property. But come on, if you sample like we do your avoiding artists and songs that are easily spotted and sticking to the obscure. Your giving these people a second chance to get their message out there. If they are actually real artists they should recognize that producers like us helping themselves to their recordings is the ultimate form of flattery. Were saying that we understand and are impressed… and, we want to show other people what your saying…
So yeah… Technically we are thieves, but I like to think of sample based producers as musical Robin Hoods. Only instead of robbing from the rich and giving to the poor we take less fortunate forgotten artists and give them another chance. Ultimately it doesn’t matter what people think anyways cause I don’t think were gonna quit sampling any time soon.
